My Road Trps

Dec 12th
What a beautiful day for a drive and of course I was on a buying trip for the girls..And I also was looking for something for myself from Chuck for Christmas..No luck for me on this trip either..We are heading up to Akron to a favorite Antique Shop we haven't been to for a long time, so with some luck I may find something for Carol and myself..Why is it when you have the money to spend you cannot find anything you like? Enjoy the following pictures..
A few pictures along Route 39 heading to Amish Country and coming home..

I love this smiling face on this Barn..
Makes one smile themselves:<)

A One Room School House..There is a fence in front of it..that's why it may look a little blurry..

An Amish Buggy passing thru Walnut Creek

An Amish house with laundry drying on the line off to the left..One needs to remember I am driving slowing to snap these pictures..Sometimes it works and other times not..

Love this Old Windmill..

Animals grazing on hill..

Love this Old truck outside Troyer's Country Market...Lots of goodies to be found here :<)

Waiting patiently for his master to return from Troyer's Country Market..Maybe he will get an apple or carrot for being good..What a beauty!!!

I could just see this old house being a Antique Shop..Would love to have it..

I like this little building..there were some cows standing beside it..Again, driving and taking pictures you just have to snap when you can..

White Barn just outside Millersburg

Another shot of the White Barn..

Coming into Millersburg..Julie's hometown.I was going to stop and shop at a couple of the Antique Shops..Town was very busy and no handy parking places on Main Street so will save that for another time..
Enjoy the following pictures of these Farms..Love the one above..

Cornstalks all gathered and tied neatly in this farm field..

This little building looks like it may be on it's last leg..Maybe someone will come to it's rescue..
The cabin below is located in downtown Loudonville..LOVE IT!!!

Mochian Manor below is also located in Loudonville..What a Grand Building!!!

The below pictures are of the Clearfork River..

Not sure how this picture would turn out when I took it but I was happy with it..
Thank you for tagging along..Have a great day,
Carolyn

Welcome to "Crow Hollow"

Love this little bridge..There is a steam that runs beside the cabin..In the background you can see the covered bridge..How Cute is that!

You can see where the blue can found it's new home..Carol & Jane are on the side porch..Lori went inside "camera shy"

I could of taken this cupboard home..Love the old green paint and skinny doors..

Too Cute!!
Wash Day

Very cute display..Sorry it's dark.
Please come inside

This great cupboard is the first thing I noticed when I walked in..Of course I wanted it :<) The fridge is beside the cupboard and the girls have an old barn door they will attrach to this cupboard and pantry to hide the fridge..Cannot wait to see that.

Lots of goodies above the cupboards.

Jane painted all the cupboards..I think I heard her tell Carol that she would like to place wire on the black part....She did a great job on them..

This door leads to the Laundry Room..On the left is the pantry and the fridge..

The red door is the entrance into the cabin..I love the black hinges and this little grouping..

Meet Ity & Bity.."I think" I will ask the girls.
*********
The view from the Kitchen..
What an inviting place

The hardwood floors are wide planks..

The girls took up a vinyl flooring and found this wonderful floor..

The table centerpiece..The girls change it out with the season..

The blue box on top of cupboard was the color the girls choose for the trim in the Dining Room..

*************
The fireplace is the first thing you see when you enter into the Living Room..

The girls were able to find an old barn beam for the mantel..

*******
The Tavern Room

Cannot wait to see this room once it is all finished..

They will refinish this black cupboard to hold their pewter collection..
*********
Now we will head upstairs..There are two bedrooms and one bath upstairs..And one bath downstairs....

This little corner is on the landing as you are heading upstairs..It is filled with schoolhouse smalls..

This little opening is also on the landing and you can look into the Tavern Room..

These stairs were once painted any ugly green..Now look at them after Jane refinished them..The girls will paint virtues on the stair fronts later..Love that idea..
First Bedroom

The bed on the left is a trundle bed..The girls have made up all the beds with old quilts and other old bedding..

A nice grouping..A slanted top desk on top of an old table with stool underneath, the shelf above was a bowl rack and the girls turned it upside down for a shelf..

This cozy little spot is at the foot of the bed...Don't you just love the old mantel.

What's not to love about this little childs bed and the small trunk..
********
The Second Bedroom
The girls are decorating this room in the Civil War theme..

Beautiful old iron bed..

Notice the little Civil War hat hanging on peg..

Love this room..
Heading back downstairs

Lori & Jane will decorate the stairway and landing in Vintage signs..

Old Quilt hanging on railing..
*******
Back Outside

This little nook is located on the side of the cabin as you walk around back..
A peek into the backyard

I love the wrap around porch..Lots of room to fill up with primitive treasures : <)

Lori said, she fills this old tub with ice to keep their drinks cold, there is a hose attached to the back to drain the water out also..
I thought I took more pictures of the porch and yard, Guess Not! :(..Just too much to see..
We hope you have enjoyed the pictures of "Crow Hollow"..We had a nice time visiting with Lori & Jane and having them share their stories of the fun they have had fixing up this little getaway for their families..
The girls have more plans for the inside of the cabin..They are replacing all the ceiling lights and redecorating the two baths and Laundry room.. A dry sink will be used in the upstair bath to hold an old large metal bowl for their sink..Another great idea!!!
Thank you Lori & Jane for a wonderful time..
*******
On our recent trip to Michigan..I decided to take a few pictures of some "Old Weathered Barns"..I recieved emails from people on how much they enjoyed my post on "Barns Of Winter" that I thought this would be nice to show..I need to tell you these pictures were taken with my little Kodak easyshare camera while riding in a van going 70 miles an hour..so I had to be quick...although Chuck was good about slowing down when he could so I could snap away..What a guy!!!!...He truly is the best!! I hope you enjoy them..
